Kristina Mazzarisi a Registered Nurse

Kristina is the most selfless individual I know. Throughout this Crisis she continued to work without any regard for herself. She has stated throughout that she would rather be there to help people in need at her hospital than worry about getting the virus. She has proved this by picking up extra shifts at the hospital or by going around the community checking on our elderly neighbors if they weren’t feeling well and thought they contracted the Virus. Kristina is a great person and the best nurse out there.

What other characteristics has your Hero demonstrated to support this nomination?

As stated above, Kristina is completely selfless. She cares more about her patients wellbeing than her own. Her goal is to have every patient as comfortable as possible and to have the mental will power to beat the virus. This includes talking to every patient to lift their spirits and have the mental strength to say everything is going to be ok. Kristina is a real people person. No matter the individual, culture or language Kristina will find a way to communicate and treat the patient on an individual level.

Describe the impact of your Hero on a local, regional, national, and/or international level.

As Stated Above, kristina goes to work as much as she possibly can to help out the hospital. She tries and works as many shifts above normal as possible to help save a life and stop the spread. She is an advocate throughout the local community in wearing PPE equipment in public to promote public safety. She truly is a hero! A person who works as much as Kristina deserves a reward even though she would disagree. She would just say it’s her job and she enjoys taking care of her patients.

Is there anything else about your Hero that you would like the committee to consider?

Kristina, like any other medical professional just starting out has built up a bunch of school debt. For someone that works as hard as Kristina, especially today through Covid 19. She deserves an award that could help her pay down her debt.
